In car Wi-Fi

Dedicated in car Wi-Fi has been available for some time now, however the GX450 is a fantastic piece of kit which can be used (data sim dependant) anywhere in the world.

It’s an ideal product if you  need a strong reliable internet signal away from home if you’re working, camping, exeditioning, or even trying to keep the kids happy, this is the ideal solution.

It can also be linked to the Blackvue dash cams so your dash cam images can be seen via the cloud whenever the vehicle is being driven.

Overview

The GX450 vehicle-based 4G wireless router allows any Wi-Fi equipped laptop, tablet or mobile phone to access the internet from within – or nearby, with an appropriate antenna solution – the vehicle.  Up to 8 Wi-Fi devices can connect to the router at the same time, allowing several laptops or tablets to access the router’s internet connection simultaneously, using just one SIM card and therefore one mobile broadband contract. Devices on the Wi-Fi network can also communicate directly with each other, so that network tasks such as file sharing can be carried out.

The router includes an internal LTE 4G module supporting peak internet download speeds of up to 100 Mbps (although, as with all cellular devices, performance will be highly dependent on the vehicle’s location and the state of the local network infrastructure).  High speed internet access will be available whenever the vehicle is within a 4G or 3G area, as most of the UK is, but lower speed internet connectivity is still maintained outside 4G or 3G areas wherever there is a mobile phone signal on your chosen network.

The router supports two external 4G antennas which will be installed as a glass mount.

The GX450 in-vehicle Wi-Fi router is a high quality and robust device that is designed specifically for use in vehicles, with E-mark certification, rugged build quality meeting Mil-spec 810-G, a dust-proof IP64 ingress protection rating, and automatic powering on and off with the vehicle ignition with optional shut-down delays.  The router includes built-in technology to maintain a persistent and reliable 4G internet connection wherever possible, and automatically connects to the internet as soon as it is powered on.  Once installed the router should never need to be physically accessed, and can therefore be installed in a covert location (e.g. behind a panel).
